Abstrakt

Speaking is the primary productive language skill. In the article the core of the communicative

process and the Communicative Language Teaching are presented. Talking - being the result

of CTL is considered as one of three aspects of the speaking skill. A dialogue with its features

of a spoken language, is a suggested technique to introduce, exercise and to emulate talking.

A sample of dialogues from chosen textbooks for teaching Polish as a foreign language were

analysed to identify how and to what extent foreigners are taught talking.
